I struggle to see how a re-map can add hp. Yes, it can modify the behavior of the engine, but more hp is the result of increasing volume or improving volumetric efficiency, so unless the induction system or other parameter (read hardware) is modified, what you've got is what you'll get. Now, if you install a header, install cams, go 4.0, or run with higher octane gas for instance, and if this introduces factors that are beyond the realm of your current 'tune', then it will be necessary to modify the software so that the ECU can handle all of this change.

These are street cars and therefore must have some compromises to be streetable. Get rid of the compromises, and the car will deliver its potential, at the cost of its good manners.

IMHO and YMMV

The gt3 motor is pretty strong as is but man I hate the egas. If there was cheaper way to convert to throttle cable I would but the sprintbooster has helped with the delay. Hell the newest cupcars are still throttle cable- wtf? Mike

Was also thinking of trying the Sprint Booster, but with the LWFW, throttle response is pretty damned quick as it is. Curious nonetheless.

Track scenarios it works well ESP heel/toe. For street 1st time it's abit jumpy but u get use to it real fast- just feathering the throttle. It doesn't costs much either. Mike

Its pretty simple really. Optimizing the advance curve and the fuel map will produce power - while perhaps sacrificing the built in safety parameters the factory tune may have put in place for less than ideal gasoline etc. Plus these days you can even tune the cam timing and all sorts of other items that use to be static settings.

There's obviously more to it than what I understand, but I guess that you are rearranging the ingredients in the recipe to get a different outcome. I.e. optimizing power by removing some safety margins or other driveability trait.

Daniels 1221 has talked about his tune..i have seen the car at sebring and it is fast..

quote from his recent for sale thread

"We just installed the Plenum and throttle body a couple of days ago.
The last dyno made was for the 2011 Time Trials classification, and showed 373hp at the wheels. The weight of the car (without driver) is 3060 lbs, Qualified for TTS (NASA) "

hopefully he can chime in...
