Default Muffler removal

So after a weekend at VIR I am convinced that it won't hurt to remove the mufflers on my 6 gt-3 !Where do I get the replacement pipes for this NOT THe BYPASS pipes?.Does anyone know how much EACH muffler weighs ?I am hearing a wide range on this from like 12lbs each to 40 lbs each TIA HOM

Stock muffs cans only in the neighborhood of 28-30 lbs per side. Oem Cat pipes are 30 combined. Cat delete pipes total weight is 10 lbs so net loss 20 lbs. With aftermarket muff cans u could lose 30 lbs total. Muff bypass pipes- way too loud but combined with cat delete ~ 70 lbs loss from rear. Pick your poison : ). Mike ps- I have fab muffs plus cat delete- bout 50 lbs off.

I track my '04 996 GT3 with Fabspeed muffler bypass pipes (and it sounds GREAT). The mufflers weigh 26.2 lbs each and the net loss in weight is just under 50 lbs. I drive the car to/from the track and maybe a few days around home, then put the mufflers back on until next track time (they are loud!)

I have a set of Fabspeed muffler bypass pipes that I'd be willing to sell you. Loud, but I loved the sound. Local track with sound restrictions so I took them off. PM if interested.
