Default Adjusting GT3 coilovers - how hard to turn shock body? Lock nuts?

Hi - am trying to raise my 2000 996 GT3 a bit, as the previous owner had it set up for track work and it is way too low for street use.

Started at the front, and thought I'd just unlock the lower ring, and then rotate the shock body anit-clockwise, thus raising the vehicle.

I've undone the bottom locking ring no worries. However, even with a custom made 'C-spanner' with an 18" handle, the shock body will not budge. I expected that I could rotate it reasonably easily.

Is there a lock nut or some other way I should be looking at this?

I've sprayed everything with RP7 (penetrant) to see if that helps, but no difference.

Tks to anyone who might have tackled this before and can give me some advice on this topic.

Cheers
David

The shock body is not threaded into the suspension upright. It is clamped. Loosen the lower locking collar at the bottom of the spring. Turn the lower spring perch/collar to adjust ride hieght. Clockwise as if looking from the bottom of the shock will raise the car. Hope this helps.
