Default Slicks options for 18x9 and 18x12

Anyone knows the options on real slicks for my size wheels ?

I dont believe that cup tires are big enough.

Eddie,

Cup tires are the wrong diameter for our cars.

Look @ the Hoosier Radial Slicks.

Dunlop slicks

Or you can go with Hoosier R6's DOT tires.

Mooty has 9.5 and 12 on his stripper. He uses Hoosier slicks. I know he has yoko slicks that he is selling. Mike

Thanks Peter, I'll check them, Rodger told me that the compounds for Porsche are usually specific as the ''weight'' is in the back of the car. Good to know that we have a few options.

Jez, those are big for a 996 GT3 set up. I wonder if we could fit bigger wheels in the back of the GT2.

Analog Mike over on the racing forum has run the Hoosiers and had good things to say about them. Might ask this question over there as they will have more experience with full slicks. You are going to need to up your spring rates from the 600/800 on the car now if you go to slicks.

tks Peter, I'll check that ... I had that on my plans already ... I have a few days on my tires, but I want to consider that route. You know that I have a few seconds to shave on the RA-1's. If I get on Ian's time on the RA-1's I will be very, but very happy, and after that is time to move on. I'm +- 3 seconds behind.

Hi. Were you there? What car are you in?

I went really well. I Am just working my way into learning to drive the gt2. It is a really good track car. It is also a beast and fun. I have de tuned it to just 1 bar for a while to keep it all in check.

The new section I enjoy. Very tight and technical. Honestly any new investment in Motorsport is a positive in my eyes though!

What do you think ?

hi, glad you enjoyed the new section with your new gt2.
great that luke is able to utilise the whole circuit; am looking forward to trying it one day, just taking a break from tracking at the moment.
my mate just bought a 6 3 and is having the coolant fittings welded at the moment, so i may venture out with him one day.
i wasn't there, just saw the pics on jpm and know the car from when robert owned it.
looked like an awesome day with good arrangement of p-cars including 996rs!
enjoy,

james

I run michelin cup slicks no problem. 24/64front and 30/65 on rear on 12's. Soft fronts harder compound on rear works for me.

I run yokohama A005's on stock wheel sizes on my 996GT3.
This requires no shimming or mesing around.. just slap them on and go.
You do need to increase camber to use them though.
the size that I use is :
Rear 280 / 650 / 18
Front 240 / 640 / 18

These will not mess with the ABS system.
