After a few months of searching I finally found the perfect car. A well cared for, one owner, 2004 Seal Grey Metallic GT3 with just over 21K miles. I had a PPI performed at Pacific Porsche, then took delivery of the car late last week. I must say that the 996 GT3 is much different than the 997, but is one incredible car and blast to drive.

Having put a few hundred miles on the car, its now in the hands of Fabryce at GMG Racing for some mods: GMG RSR roll bar, cup style carbon fiber splitter, GMG 996 GT3RS carbon fiber rear wing with carbon end plates, GMG world challenge sport mufflers and high flow cats with X section, custom software tune, and corner balance with alignment lowered to euro spec ride height.

I already have a pair of factory GT3 bucket seats and cup harnesses to install as soon as its delivered, so it should be ready for some track events this year, and some spirited driving on the weekends.

Fabryce at GMG was kind enough to meet me at the shop on Saturday, and I must say they have a very nice facility, with quite the stable of incredible cars in the shop from numerous cup cars to customer street cars. Looking forward to some quality work performed by GMG Racing, and cant wait until the car is delivered.

The corner balancing and european ride height adjustment + the GMG dog bone replacements make a huge difference in how the GT3 handles. The cup exhaust is by far the best upgrade I've ever done and you'll enjoy every minute of driving your car. It's what the car was missing all along.

I would be interested in what your dyno base line run is before and after you have this done."GMG world challenge sport mufflers and high flow cats with X section, custom software tune"
Hopefully gains in torque and horse power at what cost?
Good luck, have fun, sure I will see you at the track.

Thank you for the congrats, very exciting.

That phone pic is surely not of my carriage entrance to my house, but rather the Hilton.

I forgot to mention the install of a Toe Steer Kit to get rid of that unsettling feeling in the rear of the car for that brief moment when turning in, as that is hard to get used to. I didn’t know if it was from the PS2's (I am used to Pilot Cups on my 997), diff, or suspension geometry changes with stock suspension with the slop in the rear with the factory rubber bushings. Thoughts and suggestions are surely welcome.

Fabryce is going to dyno the car before and after the tune, as I am curious also with how much power is going to be gained with the tune and exhaust. Should be interesting.

Very nice. Sounds like a nice list of upgrades to start with. I'm running the WC exhaust and really like it. I also like the idea of the CF cup lip, but decided against it with the likely repair/replace cost.

Interested to hear your perspective on the reason to purchase since you already have a 7-3 RS.

Post some more pictures when you get it back from GMG!

I love the 997 RS and to be honest the car has such low miles and is far too nice to pound on at the track often. I also know what will happen very quickly as I would want to do some major suspension mods and the like which would devalue the car IMO. I would also hate to take the chance of wadding the car up after some serious track time under my belt in the RS.

Additionally, I really like the "old school" feel of the 996 GT3 as its one fantastic and fun car to drive hard.
