Mooty, I guess I didn't make myself clear.. I was wondering if you can retain the OEM rear deck and just have a way to mount the Cup wing.. instead of changing the whole lid to aftermarket one..

Sort of like if you put on the RS wing, you only buy the wing.. they should have a way to mount a Cup wing to the OEM rear deck.. (with some sort of adapter to move the wing higher and more forward the back)

I had the full set-up...cost was around $4,500K (that is really cheap, I got great deals on each piece from race teams) OEM cup wing, uprights, decklid, painted, installed...mine had full fan set up for street/traffic and custom work to accommodate latches and no pins...

Great!

And may I ask how you handled the filter box? Was it removed completely?

I can't recall 911, it's been too many years, but when you popped the hood, it all looked stock...

When I got the decklid, I had option for one that accommodated the fan and one that didn't, thanks to Glen for getting me the one with a fan and stock box worked fine with it...RUF may have customized it more,I don't recall...shoulda never sold that yellow beast..

Thank you very much!

This is the problem with the oem inside of the lid. You need a DIY for the blower which is ok, and the lock and the rubber pads, but the airbox is not sealed. As a result it sucks hot air and most importantly you lose all the ramair pressure effect..

But boy it does look good..! : )

Rain and water is not an issue in any case, the design of the box would require the outer part to be filled with water completely before the inner part would suck water in, that can't happen because the box has a draining hole. Maybe if you put inside the opening a high-pressure fire hose.. : )

I'll be selling mine pretty cheap since I just ordered a Crawford wing and uprights. I can post pictures later, or you could swing by VIR next weekend and see it in person.
