Race Car
this is nuts - went to pick up the car from OPC - something looked ... odd
worked out the offsets looked wrong on the left vs the right of the car
i.e. the rubber was flush on the left but not the right....
you bloody know it! they refurbed the rims and put them back together wrong!
And did balancing and alignment etc..
Someone missed about 7 red flags
so the car has both 10in on the left and both 8in on the right!!
F'n PC too! Was keen to do a test drive but figured on that setup with brand new rubber
and no oval track it wouldn't make sense .... so now I'm watching the clock tic-toc
while they fix the error

thanks Jim (and congrats for replacing webber with a winner even if his name is Italian!)
the RS was definitely stiffer and maybe a little faster ... but for the road I'm loving this one in all respects
there is a simple rightness to it ... beside the wheel which feels huge as I have cup wheels on the 964 and Cup.
Going to resist the urge to mod ... alignment changes for the porsche parade each year maybe will be the only track time .. and even thinking of getting the ceramic coating done instead of 3M plastic this time.
What you recon on the steering wheel J? (sorry to go OT)

imo leave the whole car stock.
it really is beautiful the way it is - mod your other cars!
don't give in to temptation. these mk1's are at the bottom of the curve.
i remember looking at british car mags just 10 years ago and seeing 964/993 rs selling for 30 - 40k pounds.
even just changing the steering wheel or radio destroys it's originality in my mind. don't touch it.
race your other cars and just enjoy the street with this.
congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!
yeah, our new f1 star got some potential. and he looks very happy to be driving. he got a huge smile and a humble attitude which can only be good for the sport.

Burning Brakes
Yellow is a color that doesn't need to tinkered with to stand out. I had to label the car for tax purposes, but I still like it better plain. I've kept all the original bits for the future except the OEM shocks were missing on arrival.
Anybody know how to get the yellow belts clean?
