Some Alcantara by Dallas Custom

Just got some pictures from Don Le at Dallas Custom Steering Wheel

He finished wrapping some of my stuff from the GT3. Had everything done in charcoal to match the factory headliner and blue stitching to go with the existing stitching in the car. Wheel was thickened by 1/8" and a blue strip was worked in.

I am extremely happy how everything came out. Don has some of the best customer service out there. Stuff was wrapped in 2 days. Don kept in constant communication with me and made it a simple and easy transaction. The prices were also very reasonable.

That is Exactly what I want to do on mine... Color and everything.

Looks Fantastic.

Don is on my list of things to get done in 2011. Scott (SH||NC) has done a few cars with him now and I have seen the work firsthand. Stunning!

Hey Dell,

Did you see the pic i posted on another thread showing what Don did with the old steering wheel of the "LVDell speed yellow special"?

LVDell 01-11-2011 10:58 AM

Yup, and it brought a tear to my eye :crying:

007DT 01-11-2011 11:02 AM

What would the above work cost.. roughly..

Dave, ping Don for a specific quote; he gets back to you really quickly, but for steering wheel, knob, ebrake, boot, and console pieces, ~$1000, maybe less

What are the advantages of alcantara other then one less cow killed? By the way nicely done. Mike

Well if you do it properly I would assume that replacing all the heavy leather with the skin of the alcantara animal would be a weight savings. Plus it looks cool

alcantara is ~ 1/3 the weight of leather

LVDell 01-11-2011 07:57 PM

Well, there you have it. Time to start ripping out all the leather and replacing with alcantara hides

Did you opt for the Indian or African Alcantra? I hear the Indian is softer but the African is more durable. Or am I confusing that with the Nauga?
