Default How many nylon washers for Rennline folding tow hook?

I have the Rennline fron folding tow hook (which comes with 5 nylon washers) and just a stock bumper on my 6GT3.

How many of the 5 nylon washers do you guys use?

Where do you place the rubber bump-stop? On the back/bottom of the hook?

Thanks.

Take some pics if you don't mind when you are done. I'm surprised there aren't any illustrations in the instructions?

Scott it has instructions.. and pictures! not that they are needed it's just a bolt mate!
The spacers allows the use of the tow hook in various cars. That means that the gap between bumper and crash bar is different.. so you add or remove spacers..
If you want the page I can send it you nonetheless.

Great!

Benefits: The most important one is that you can now resize your avatar and make it larger! : )

Other minor benefits include: helping ensure RL's continuance as this forum is supported by paying members and sponsors, access to the OT section, and access to the members classified forum and the right to post a for sale item.

Actually, biggest benefit of membership is that it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside

There, first mod of the year. Took all of 10 minutes including assembling, using a 7/32 alen wrench, and picture taking.

Don't think the rubber bumper is needed on the GT3 as it doesn't really line up with anything.

Oh wow, that's nice.

Is there a to lock that in so no one can just come and unscrew it?

I like to get one, but in orange to match the black and orange motif my vehicle is in.

Naw it wasn't me that made that sale.

I'm gonna buy this tow hook, looks real nice. Checked the website, and they have different colors that only high-lite the brand lettering, so I'm gonna grab black.

SO I JUST FINALLY GOT TO PUTTING IN THE TOW HOOk from Rennline nice piece..i was told that it is really hard to get in all the way and to use a wrench..well i wrenched it in as hard as i could and still looks like its not in far enough? suggestions? 3 white washers and rubber thingy and you can still see that the hook is not all the way to the washers...?

suggestions..thanks

maybe because i have the rs bumper..is there less depth?

Your comments scare me.

Were you able to at least screw it in for "many" turns by hand? Mine goes in and out without any resistance. I haven't tried to screw it in as far as it will go, just far enough to clear the bumper, and THEN figured out how many teflon washers to use to achieve this depth.

If you must use a wrench, the threads might be damaged, or there's just something in the way that prevents easy insertion...

well the oem tow hook goes in fine...the rennline guy i emailed said they make them "tight" for racers that use the hooks..

maybe a lil grease..seems like the same one you have and like a gunmetal color...but it is very tight..again the oem screws in super easy

this one goes in about 1 1/2 turns then 1 1/2 more turns very hard with wrench no way near all the way in......

No difference, I have the RS bumper.

Indeed it has more resistance than the oem. If it starts going in correctly then apply more pressure.
