but really, all the GT cars shift very very well.
it's the operator not the shifter. and the plastic thing really doesnt brake if u shifted lightly. none of my GT cars ever had shifter issues. the stripper has cup shifters b/c the PO put in BM shifter which i hate. personally i prefer longer throw, you are less likely to fk up and miss a shift. since i needed to take out BM i put in cup. now i have it, it feels different not better.

^ I like to ^go in and out as fast I can despite a little misshift- keep the intensity going on : ). Banging gears is fun : ) though expensive : ). Mike

Thanks for clarifying.. (California Motorsports vs. Cantrell)
How does it compare to the stock 997 GT3 shifter? I was told by Cantrell that the CMS shifter is 15% shorter throw compared to the Cup unit, so it should be identical to the 997 GT3 OEM shifter. Can you confirm that?

With that clarified and simply noting the feel of the throw, it was bolt-action rifle precise with the CMS unit. The is a bit more play with OE shifter but replacing the OE cable with Cup made a HUGE difference.
So food for thought.
John- thanks for posting the cover and screw to secure the cable housings but drilling two holes on each side and running two tie wraps seems to me to be much more secure? That cover looks flimsy in the pics. Perhaps not so in reallife? My tie secured ends are locked rock solid

Thanks again for the feedback.. the neutral at 30 degrees to the passenger side.. I guess I don't understand why it is that way.. so it basically shift the shift **** to the right by a couple of inches then, right?
Very strange...
Very strange...
The CMS unit can be supplied with or without the B&M short shift parts. Mine had it. The OE 997.2 throw is already short and I would say comparable to the B&M unit. The issue I had was neutral with the CMS/B&M unit was approx 30 degrees to the passenger side vs OE. It was very unnatural to shift. So CMS is looking at how to redesign to fix this. I think the 997.2 shifter throw is offset to the driver side, you can see this in the pics. I have no reference where the 996 neutral sits.

Thanks Mike. I found the "adjustment bridge" to my Cup Shifter but it does not fit my SSK shifter.
(I have have way too many spare parts laying around here.)
The part number on the Cup tool is 996 424 395 03
Do all the non-Cup assemblys share the same bridge?
Does anyone have the part number for the 997 SSK bridge?
Is it the green one, 997 424 383 01?
