I will ask tomorrow. I think I know the owner but I do know the guy that tuned it up. A very professional long time ALMS engineer. If not stuffed it will be a very sorted out ride.

I believe Gamroth built this car. If so, it's done 100% correct.

I can get it for less than that. Spoke to the sellers. I'm in New York, want to do some history searching before I commit to making the trip to the West Coast to check it out.

Thanks

I think Fordahl had a hand in this car... it was owned by a guy in Seattle who moved into a .2RS
Nice car and from what I hear a pretty good driver although I have never been to a track day that he was at. He told a friend of mine it is the fastest 996-3 in the NW... which I say it is now since my 996-3 moved to Georgia :-)

clean car as far as I know but if you can agree on a price prior to flying out I think you will be pleased.

And Bend, OR is an hour or two from Oregon Raceways so maybe you squeeze in nice track day.

Also, if you have not been, Bend is not a bad place to spend a few days...

I looked in the classifieds, could not find it. Do you have to be a member to view the classifieds?

Actually I have a spread sheet that shows the car on the track 18 times and 14 auto cross appearances. (So I am being told).
The previous owner went out and bought a cup car to race full time.

is this Scott powell's car?
if so I heard grey black RS

and with your spread sheet info it makes sense why I would not have seen him - I do not go to PCA or bmwcca days...

good luck!

Spoke with Rene at Carrera this am to educate myself (I might also be heading in the 996 3 direction within a few months) and he did say seller just picked up a .2 RS. Car is currently on consignment for a fee as opposed to a %. Ebay gives the dealership exposure but in the past, reserve was only met a few times on other cars.
He figures there's $40k in upgrades and fair market would be high $60. Oh, and ONE owner!

If I was in the US and ready I would be very tempted by this car so, provided you can agree on a price, this could be a very special car indeed

I'll jump in here to clarify a few things.

The car was not built by Jeff Gamroth. I bought that one a couple months ago!

This car is a one owner car; the owner (correctly identified by PJS) is here in the Seattle area. It was "built" by Greg Fordahl, who is a very well regarded race technician and driver. It's Basalt Black in color. Though the odometer mileage is not particularly low, I think it has been very well put together and well cared for. I've seen the car on a number of occasions and I know the owner and builder -- both very good people. It's a car I considered purchasing as well some months ago. I decided to go a different direction -- even one notch more hard core. If you want to reach the original owner, who "traded" on a .2RS, PM me and I'll connect you.

Rob
