Default High speed braking dynamics

The rear end likes to move around with high speed braking zones. I have the Guard LSD rebuild and car aligned. I dont feel like I can brake as late from 14-1 and Canada @ Road America because I feel like I have to get the car settled before turn in.

Would the wider rear wing and or Tarett toe links help with this?

Thanks

Wing can't hurt either. you need high downforce right there

Could also be tires...I was having the same problem for several laps at Mid Ohio last weekend until my tires got hot. Road America is long, and it can be hard to get heat into the tires.

Unstable high speed braking is a symptom of alignment. If you don't have enough rear toe in, it is a sure thing. If rear toe is knocked out of alignment (happens a lot if you don't have toe links) you get the same problem.

I would agree with Bob on this one. Did you check your toe settings before, and more importantly after the event?

Thanks for the responses. I had the toe settings set up on the car with the alignment but noticed it again. I will check into getting the toe links. For running the larger wing in the rear, do you have to run a cup nose with splitter?

The cup splitter will work on your bumper cover. Get the Tarret toe links, realign with some toe-in, and you'll be fine....

About the rear instability I was having some issues as well and after checking and dismissing all alignment, LSD and aero issues I am now between the problem being PCCB specific regarding bias and pads or a rear tyres issue. Still investigating.
BTW are you using PCCBS or steel brakes and with what pads?

About the gt3 aero you can read more here https://rennlist.com/forums/996-gt2-...highlight=duct

I have better theory when my created out of thin air "PCCB bias problem" theory is busted.
The car is soo light now that the brakes are too big for it and might have to downgrade them with some boxter 1999 2.5 brakes. What you reckon?

Alignment. Uneven side-to-side is just a hellish scary sensation on these cars.

Thanks for all the great advice. Looks like all the above is the recipe, starting with adjustable toe links and alignment.
