I bought it yesterday. The 997 Manthey 3.9 needed a friend in the garage.
There is something solid, pure and elemental about the car. It cannot be described. You have to drive it to really appreciate the car. The integrated roll cage, the suspension, the brakes, the perfectly balanced engine all contribute to the feeling, and it feels incredibly special when you drive it.
Oh, the brown seats will be in permanent retirement. Black GT3 seats are being installed...

I will post a full report when I take both my cars to the track. On the street, the RGT feels much more solid and better planted than my 2007 GT3. Straight-line speed is not a fair contest, given that my GT3 has a "ringer" engine.
niche and iLLM3: Thanks for your comments.

MM3 - Congrats on the new car. I am a RUF-o-holic as well . Do you know what those front brakes of yours are? are they a 355mm or 380mm setup? Looks like they rund spacers in the front to clear the brakes? Very nice car regardless!

Viggo: Thanks. The front brakes are 380mm. The suspension set-up is very nice.

Is the suspension comprised of any Porsche parts (mk1 GT3 maybe) or completely RUF specific?
Since you said it's well planted & solid, I'm curious how much of the suspension is different than the mk2 GT3's that came to the US.

congrats on the new car! enjoy!
love the Rufs, the quality they put in cars they produce is amazing. I just had a factory tour last month and given by Alois himself, he showed us the RGT 8 (even fired it up on the dyno for us to hear-flat plane noise is FTW!). Also saw the electric car he is building and his favorite project of the moment, restoring 901s (200k euros for a full restoration).
