PN help, C pillar trim leather seat belt opening cover
hoping someone can help, especially if you have a GT2.
im just putting the interior back into my GT3 and im missing the trim piece that covers the rear seatbelt opening on the C pillar, or to be more precise where the rear seatbelt would come through on the C2 etc.
as you know the GT3 trim piece for this is sealed with leather to blank off this hole.
i checked the PET and it isnt any help here, it shows the regular C2 part number for this piece but does have an extra item listed with a qty 2. it may be that this is a piece of leather that you have to glue on yourself but surely not!!! its the only thing i can think of as the trim pieces are L or R side specific so i dont see what else could be used on either side.
looking at the back of the trim piece i havent lost (left side) for a part number does indeed show the regular plastic C2 part number, but if i order this up im going to just get a piece with an opening for a seatbelt which is no use
looking at the GT2 parts list, it shows a piece with its own number and is in black leather too, this is the only part i can find for here that is leather instead of plastic so this may be more successful.
does anyone know if the GT2 does indeed have this rear opening blanked off with leather as per the GT3 or can you make any sense of the PET as to what i need to order up here.

Keep it simple only one pair of those is for the gt2.
996 555 545 30 L
996 555 546 30 R
2004 GT3 has the same part numbers as the GT2 but not leather.
btw the ones you saw without L and R (part 996 555 345 90) are for the 1999 996 GT3 mk1 only so you dont want them.

thanks john,
my PET is showing the GT3 part number as being the same as for the C2 which was definately not right and threw me a curve.
is the GT2 ones definately blanked off? ive not seen in a 6GT2 but assume its the same as for the GT3 back there.

Mike if he orders that part number ending with 01 he will get one with a belt hole because this is the 996 part number. And because it has colors too , it's best to order it with the cars VIN number included in the order.
Porsche sometimes does this same part / different part trick.
Besides you can see the hole area in the back that in the gt3 gt2 part are closed.

thanks mike,
yeah thats exactly the part i need, however its a modified C2 part and the printed part number is, as john says, for the cars with rear seatbelts. i thought i had struck lucky looking behind the part until i ran the number in PET. doh. thanks for posting up photos though so folks could see what i was jabbering on about.
john, thanks for that. my PET does not have that page. i need to get a different version. many thanks for the help and info. very much appreciated.
what version do you have? mine is update 203 from august 2006
