(see the description that it would fit the 996..)

I have those but never fitted. (See here for details http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/9...e-ducts-4.html, bottom of page).

You have to cut away at the backing plate otherwise the air won't get to the disc. I attempted the install but decided to wait until I next remove the discs so it's easier to modify the plate. Plus, after considering it I really don't thing I'm putting that much heat into the rears to warrant them, fitted much cheaper/ smaller GT2 rear ducts. Oh well, more money in parts just sat on the shelf...

I thought Porsche only made 1 type of rear ducts? I guess that's not the case? (You mentioned the much cheaper, GT2 option)

Edit: Never mind, I went to the 6-speed post you linked.. Looks like there is a 996 GT2 rear brake duct.. so I guess it is the 996 GT2 vs. 997 GT3/2 rear duct...

WRT rear ducts, check your under carriage. You don't have the air leads that will collect air into the rear ducts. The underbody of the 997 is a bit different. If you install the rears you might not see any airflow different to the rotors. I think the 996 GT2 has these as well (both rotor ducts and venting).

I will try to dig up some underbody pics to illustrate.

996 undertray is the same for GT2/GT3 etc ( I believe) and the GT2 ducts are a 996 part number. I know what you're saying but the ducts do hang lower than the tray and any air is better than none... There is air flow which can be directed just not as much as the 997 guides....

Good point. I think I have my old 996 confused with the GT3. My GT3 does not have rear scoops. I doubt they get hot enough to need them anyway.

Default Rear brake scoops...

I found this thread some time ago and just bought a pair for my car. Looks like they are from a 997 TT.

Another option and they were like $15 each... Did not install them yet. Waiting for TRG brake lines... Lou

A little duct tape and some bailing wire and you could win the McGeyver award!
