Manthey claims +5 kg more downforce than oem, Cargraphic doesn’t.

Manthey’s wing has deeper side plates as I saw recently here in James Bond's car and as per their pr man is more rigid as a wing.
Cargraphics wing is a 100% copy of the oem in dimensions.
But Cargraphic sells a trick gurney lip for the RS wing that reduces drag when you use shimms. I bought that, a very nice stick of carbon can be used as ruler too or to guide horses when ridding.

I also read that the Manthey wing is hand finished on the edge with sharp edge but not the OEM? Can folks with Manthey wings confirm that? Does that mean you'd need to have it clear coated first?

Stick to the OEM and Manthey. All the replicas out there make me nervous when I see their substandard mounts. For the street, maybe fine but at 150+ at VIR you really don't want to risk that sucker becoming detached and then (a) you loose control; and (b) have a flying piece of CF shrapnel for the guy behind you to navigate around.[/QUOTE]

My wing has been tested by me at Road America up to 158 and it is perfect. I think you have visions of that Subaru that lost his wing because he modified the mounting location to above the car in the free air. Shaw and Getty have some fitment issues and they price them accordingly. The IMGT3 wing plugs in like a stock wing and the hardware looks identical. I do not fault O.E.M. or Manthey but IMGT3 wing is right there with them in quality and strength.

Good for you. I'll stick to OEM or reputable companies that build race components for cars they actually test and race and you can stick to replicas on your genuine GT3.

I don't cut corners on items that are integral to the stability of the car at high speed nor my safety.

Personal preference I guess.

A lot of race teams also outsource their carbon fiber wings to shops and produce it under their private label. IMGT3 might be doing this as well.

take a look at all the work that Prototype Composites. Maybe they are using a company like this as well? Just a thought....?

Neither is the IMGT3 one by the way, met the guys at Porsche parade this year.

I agree, there is a lot of cheap chinese crap floating around there, and yes you should inquire about the means upon which the wing was made. From what I saw and my conversations with them, this is far from it...fyi...

Good news; Gert got the wing shipped out today via FedEx; ETA is next Wed! I plan to get the wing wrapped the day after arrival in paint protection film to keep it looking good for the foreseeable future.

that's the only 996 CF wing I could find on the FVD site ... and it is reduced from 56xx euros ...

the downside is it claims it must be sent via freight due to its size, although I am sure that could be dealt with ...

worth contacting Rhonda Roxburgh @ FVD.US to see if a similar deal is available over here ...
