Feedback on Hoosier R80 or R100
Has anyone tried these? Is the stock suspension stiff enough to get heat into these tires? Is a different setup required? How is the performance / wear compared to R6s?

I'm going to hunt for a scrub set and see how they work on a stock setup. Victor, do you have an "old" set that will fit on a 996GT3? I'd like to give them a go to see how much heat I can get in them.
FWIW, I called Hoosier, and they informed me that the R100/80 will work on a car that uses R6s, with the same setup, just much faster. They also implied (but wouldn't actually commit) to a first drop off at about 4 HCs, and another around 12, and longevity on par with R6s [so around 20 HCs, give or take].
The cost is a few hundred more per set.

A few places have them, including Bob Woodman and Phils Tires. Our local track supply shop also carries them. About $1600 per set.

I ran a slightly used set, 1 HC from the GTS3 National's championship race at Miller last September. PCA had their annual Club Race the following weekend so he left them for me to try. They were pretty incredible, I qualified on them almost 2 seconds faster than I had been going on slighly older Yoko slicks. They were really too small up front at 235/645/18, but fine for the rear at 280/645/18. I expected some understeer and stiffened my rear bar 1 notch which worked out perfectly. They were the R80 compound up front, and the R100's in the rear per the Hoosier rep's suggestion at the Nationals.
I then qualified/raced on them the next event at Cal Speedway and they were still great. I haven't driven a set since as Yoko has a pretty incredible contingency package this year and Hoosier cut their's back. They make a larger set which fit on my 9.5/11.5 rims and I plan on using the at the Nationals. They're 265 fronts which are pretty close to the 255 R6's, and 305 rears which are identical to the 315 R6's. Those sizes are perfect for a GT3 if you have some larger rims and at least -3.0 camber up front....

First off, I call bull**** on the 20 HC, I have a great relationship with the Hoosier rep and I keep telling him to stop telling people that. It depends on the weight of the car, driving style and a million other factors. I agree that they are like glue for the first 4 HCs but mine die at 8. I got 12 on one set. I found them to be about the fastest tires I've ever used. They take a couple laps to get up to temp but once they are it's heaven. They are at least 4 sec faster then the Nitto/RA01s are when they're new.
Considerations:
These tires don't like to slide so if that's your driving style,change it, you'll be faster that way anyhow.
These tires have a side wall that is much stiffer then the R6s so they like camber. A lot of it. Hoosier recommended 3-5deg. More then the R6. I have close to 4 deg and I still cord the outsides (yes my alignment is fine and I'm all monoball).
Also they like heat, meaning they like a higher spring rate, appropriate for slicks. I'm at 1000/1200 f/r and its perfect for them.
No I don't have any used ones, I use them till they cord.

I have been using r100s for a bit now and honestly think they are straight up awesome...the michelins/pirellis may last another couple sessions...but these things are unrivaled for overall value...
