Solution for coolant press fitting and water pump failure/pics
Bring a spare car. lol
Some fun pics of recent track time and a pick of the small J pipe press fitting that seems to come out on 996 GT3 that see track work. I thought putting pressure on the pipe with safety wire would help and if down the road someone needed to take the pipe out just cut the wire.

Those mickey mouse hose fittings seem to fail on all 996GT3s sooner or later. Had mine blow out as did my wife on hers. Sold mine to a pal, he had the other side blow out at the track. Mine failed on the left as you look at the engine from the rear. However, a ten minute job with JB weld and an a couple hours later he was back on track. Those fittings are simply glued in. That's a WTF? as far as I'm concerned.

Damn, when did Jim get the stacker???? You guys are ballers How many crew members do you have?
Dell, you are Mooty without the numerous purchases, but my crystal ball says the more you lurk around here, coupled with the prices going down, it's only a matter of time...
Okay, now, what is the "preventative" measure one can take before it blows out on a track? Is there an after market fitting that will work?

Just going to put on the check list to look at fittings before/after hard track runs. Hoping my crude safety wire trick will help.
I would guess that Porsche designed that J fitting to come out for some reason. Why else would they use glue press fitting?
