Default IO Port Racing cam mount position on cage

I received my IO Port camera mount and placed it as seen in the picture below. I thought that would be least visible behind the triangle-and-hole-thingy. Unfortunately part of the view is clipped by the seats. My setup is a GMG cage and euro GT3 seats.

Where is the best mounting position?

Thanks.

Okay thanks, I'll try that later today.

Do you have the leather euro seats? Any advice for leather products? Porsche brand?

Yeah I do. I use the pcar brand. I'm not too regular with conditioning and cleaning leather maybe every 3 months. Mike

@Number54, this is off-topic. Today I tried to install the I/O port mount on my DAS cage (1-3/4" I think) and found that the screw is not long enough (only 2-1/2").

Could you do me a favor and measure the length of those long screws? Greatly appreciated.

^u have to order with the longer bolts since das bar is thicker then most bars. They have the small length bolt set and the longer bolt set when u order online. I ordered the longer bolts. Mike

Thanks, I'll get some p-car brand. I'll post the bolt lengths later if mike hasn't already done it. They seemed pretty long for the GMG cage. And I have a pretty thick piece of rubber between the mount and the cage.

Well Webbie I looked at my bolt and now I remember the bolts were too short . My mechanic told me after he installed bar and tried bolting on ioport mount the bolts were too short so he ordered this c shape type clamp. You could probably call ioport if they have longer bolts or go to your nearest hardware store. Here's a pic of mine. Sorry I couldnt help u. Mike

@webbie: I measured the bolts, they're 3.25" long.

I found the best position was just above the triangular part on the passenger side:

Mine is obviously a little different than yours, but here is a picture anyway I hope to mount a SmartyCam on it before my next event in late May.

Here is a link to the video for perspective. (vimeo link)

Hardware store only carries the 3" long bolts, $3 each! They just barely made it.
