Default Please explain my "Engine Revolution Report"

In a rush when I picked up my car last week, I failed to ask the Porsche dealer about my inspectioon done which he says the car was "Excellent". Everything was pretty straight forward except I am not quite clear on - 'Engine Revolutions Report' It says;

Range Number 1 - Ignition 7082 - Hours 712.7
Range Number 2 - Nothing under ignition yet hours says 832.2
Nothing on range 3 through 6 under either heading.

What does this mean?

THX guys.

pretty sure it means the PO hit the rev limiter which has zero negative effects on the car. Not sure with the #2 there should be numbers displayed if there were hits. There are no 3-6 in the 996.

There are no values in the 996 for 3-6.

We only have Type 1 (banging against the rev limiter) and Type 2 (mechanical over-rev! bad.) rev counts.

It will state the hour when the last rev count took place for that range. Odd that there is a value for hours but not ignitions for Type 2.

Thanks - that was a good thread. Now somewhat educated, I will speak with the Porsche tech when I pick up my old seats in the morning and discuss it first hand with him.

Your welcome. If it is a different Porsche model than the 2004-2005 GT3, you need the relevant description for that DME version.
