Stripping a GT3?
Has neone here actually done a full strip of the 6? If so how far did u go? Let's just say no replacement of panels with liter stuff(but if so lmk too how much weight comes off) just whatever is not necessary in the car- how much weight off to expect. Thanks. Mike

rad got to 2700 i think, no cage.
i think with cage and you did it like my BSR, you can hit 2750 empty with no panel replacement.
you can also ask karlooz for wt, his is stripped to the core and many FG pieces. although not gt3, it's close enough

Serge- yeah simple answer is getting a cupcar but maybe it's me- my 6gt3 has served me many years of great service and I'm abit sentimental- great memories. Why not? My car is not a daily driver- only see's days when a track day comes. I don't want to sell it. Every mod I've done to the 6- it's measureable. I think taking off excess weight only makes it better. Just like u why u pick a 6- it's pretty set up out of the box for the track- I just want to make it better. Mike

my car got to 2760 with PCCB, fabspeed muffler bypass pipes, CCW wheels and 285/335 tires, 10 lbs battery, no carpets, door panels with airbags removed, glovebox removed, Moton, naked trunk, RS flywheel, center console delete.
You want to reach another 200 lbs reduction? all you need is money to buy parts.
You need AC delete, carbon fenders, carbon doors, carbon hood, carbon bumpers, 996 Cup carbon deck lid and wing, ligther headlights, Magnesium 9"/11" wheels, slicks, lexan side and rear window, air pump delete (emission equipment), Cup intake, racing steering wheel, radio delete. This will save 200 lbs, then install a full cage, and you will be around 2,650 lbs with no fuel (50 lbs heavier than a GT3 Cup without the air jacks).
Sell 996 GT3, buy 996 GT3 Cup, cheaper.

Sure thing Victor. I have one weekend event April 24/25 at thill. After that it's going under the knife of unwanted deadweight surgery. My plan is to have my friend mechanic do the strip and have Tony do the cage and other safety stuff so I can go for my provisional with NASA. I plan to keep body panels for now as well as stock suspension. I like to see how my laptimes do with just a simple strip then go on with motons/suspension upgrades then regear then start dealing with lw panels. Well that's at least what my plan is. Mooty will tell me do it all in one time : (. Mike ps- Sunday I'm going to strip the front trunk(wifey/duaghter left for china for spring break have the whole
place to myself ).
