Question Manufacturer & Specs of OEM Suspension?

I Searched but did not find my answer.

Who is the supplier for the 996 GT3 coil over setup and are the spring rates and damper specs known?

Thanks

The springs are made by H&R.

That's all the higher the spring rates are?! Can you explain Progressive?

Reason I ask is my car has KW V3 CoilOvers on it. The spring rates are 280 F 950 R. Although the adjustability of the compression and rebound are decent. The front springs felt way too soft in relation to the rear on the track.

Dave, it allows for a softer initial compression and then gradually gets stiffer when more compression is applied to the spring. My guess is PAG chose this for easier street drivability.

Damper (Bilstein)
Spring (H&R)
Rates (already listed but "slightly" incorrect ) 228F (Linear) 543R (Progressive)

awww...bustin my *****! Sorry for the bad info

Yes the fronts are soft....rears are soft too. My old C2 had coilovers with 450/900 and it needed more spring rate but was a good compromise for the street / track use.

Great info guys, thanks.

I am surprised the spring rates are so low, at least they sound low to me knowing what some aftermarket spring rates are for off-the-shelf coil over systems; of course the dampers are I think what makes the ride feel so firm.

Figured you hadn't had a good ball busting in a while

I ran 900/1100 and found it to be pure euphoria

They feel good since Bilstein tuned them to match those springs. The "cheaper" way of upgraded the setup is to pick a new spring rate and then send your dampers to bilstein for a revalve to match. About $80 a damper for that service IIRC.

When the time comes, I plan on doing just that for 600/900 lb rates.

Your onto something with the dampers... I've been told by others smarter than I that they are over damped from the factory to give it a tighter ride. A fresh set of dampers (or full coil overs) were next on my list till I decided to sell.
