Lug nut question...

Well, on top of picking up Jeff's gorgeous GT3, I purchased a set up of Kinesis wheels for track use from a very nice gentelman in VA. I put them on the car today and noticed that the rear lugs stick out much further than they do on the stock GT3 wheels. They threaded normally and I was able to torque them appropriately so I am guessing its just the difference between the two different wheels. That said, I don't want to be a bone head and have the wheels fall off when I drive down the street so I am posting a pic and asking (hoping) that everybody will tell me it looks okay.

Measure the thickness of the new wheels from the ball seat to the rear face of the wheel. Compare it to the length of your lugs and you will know for sure if you have enough threads to keep the wheels on.
You can also search on here and see if people with the same wheels have to go to longer studs. BBS's for example require a much longer stud than stock.

Here's one of it fresh off the truck and a really crappy one of it in the garage just after I swapped the wheels this afternoon.... I'll try to snap some better pics this week.

Thanks. Honestly, this car is so much prettier than the Seal Gray I had (at least to my eyes). I have never found any of the 996 cars to be particularly good looking but this car may have converted me a bit. I can see some curves that are very hidden in the 996 design. The car is immaculate, the two previous owners REALLY took care of it. Before it was even off the truck I looked at my wife and told her, "****, I'm going to have to look for another one to track, this one is too pretty". So, if anyone knows of a cheap one out there...

99% chance the wheels/bolts are fine as long as you have adequate engagement as 917k mentioned. Easiest comparison is to see how far the bolt extends out the back side of the wheel (obviously off the car) compared to the factory wheels. If it's any less, you should probably get the longer wheel bolts.
Only potential other issue is to confirm that the Kinesis wheels have ball shaped seats, not cone shaped. A friend just got a set of Volks for his Cayman S and had to get a second set of nuts (car is converted to wheel studs) because the Volks had cone shaped seats.
Enjoy the new car. The red looks great!

A bad photo from my blackberry but here are the same wheels. Indeed the rear lug is not as deep as the front. Do not use these wheels on the street, they are soft and light. Strong sure, but a pothole might bend them.
I have MPSC 295's on the rear in this photo. I now run Nitto NT01 315's. The rear wheels are 11 and the front 9.

Thank you! I dropped the car off for a look over and some clear bra before track day tomorrow and my mechanic said it was fine too. Thanks for the help.

If you are tracking the car I would suggest wheel studs to replace the stuck lug nuts.
CDOC has them and it's cheap, do a search.
Lugs are stronger/safer, and make wheel swaps easier, and prevent your wheels from banging your calipers/rotors when swapping wheel sets. They work fine with stock wheel and aftermarket.
