Question 996 GT3 PCCB to Steel rotor, brake pad choices?

For those who have converted PCCB to steel rotor, what are the brake pad choices available out there? For track application, am I limited to P50 green?

Pagid, Performance Friction, Carbotech, and every other aftermarket track pad that's offered for the GT3.

Pagid and Performance Friction are the more popular choices for track work. Pagid yellow and PFC 06 are the endurance pads that offer a good compromise between braking bite and rotor wear. Pagid black and PFC 01 will have stronger bite, and will wear rotors faster. Some people use the same pad front/rear, others use a little stronger bite in the rear to try to overcome the front brake bias that 6GT3s have. Also, most use Cup front brake cooling ducts to help with pad/rotor wear.

Arrow check this thread for some info

Check this thread out and there are many good threads about the options we have on brake conversions from PCCB to Steel. Especially pay attention to the pad and rotor hat clearance.:

Information update on this from Andeas (chief engineer) at Pagid - my question:

Can OEM Porsche PCCB pads be used on an aftermarket steel rotor?

Craig
Rennstore

His reply:

Yes, this way round it is no problem, we just must not recommend using non- PCCB pads on Ceramic rotors.

PS: just back from Daytona, we ended up being on cars position 1 to 10 overall. Will write a report later this week.

Kind regards
