This is a review I posted in another thread. I am a believer.

I installed it in the GT2, 930mans ex car, right after I got it with app 7000 miles. Installation was not an issue, Foreign Affairs in Pompano, FL did the install. The car now has 15,000 miles with no issues. Braking from high speed is much better than with the stock LSD and the lockup on acceleration exiting corners is very progressive. No Chatter. Also works well in the rain. On a wet track @ Little Talledega during the 1009 One Lap we were fastest car in the morning beating Gt-r's and other awd cars. In the afternoon on a heavy standing water we were 2nd fastest. I do run Syngear II 80/140 in the transmission/diff instead of Mobile 1. OSgiken recommended using Syngear II and I was concerned with the heavier weight over Mobile 1 but shifting has been fine. When the transmission is cold it is a little stiff but after a couple of shifts it frees right and shifts fine the rest of the day.

I can't compare the OSgiken to the Guards as I have never run the Guards LSD.

In my Honda S2000 when I went from the Kazz LSD, I used to come in from a race and the diff would be literally smoking hot, to the OSgiken and Syngear II the diff temps dropped and I no longer had the heat problem.

I hope this answers your questions.

Peter

Thanks Peter!

What lockup rate did you use? 40/60? 50/80? etc....

On both the S2000 and GT2 I went with the standard OSgiken lockup 1.5way

Hope this helps.

Okay all so lock up rates seem to be the biggest question here right? I will try to explain this the best that I can for everyone.

Lock up on the OS Giken is a progressive ramping to 100% depending on the amount of torque that is applied to differential. This is adjustable as well internally to the diff, but I would recommend leaving it in it's stock position, and then make some modification as needed, but I doubt that you will need to.

I have a feeling that this would actually be easier to describe on the phone, but this should help a little.

Also keep in mind that when you see figures like 40/80 this is not a lock up percentage, it is not for instance 40% / 80%, instead, this actually relates to the ramp angles in degrees, so it should actually read 40 degrees / 80 degrees. While this does relate directly to lockup in a sense, I think that the way people have interpreted this has muddied the waters up quite a bit.

The long and short of things here is that you will love the lockup of the OS Giken, because of the way the differential actuates and disengages automatically, you will have increased car control in the corners with incredible lockup on the straights, and during breaking.

I know that this probably has created more questions, so feel free to ask, but again it may simply be easier to give me call here.

For those that enjoy technical reading, I believe that the patents covering the OS Giken diffs are set forth in the page at this link: http://alturl.com/7zio

I thought that you might like to see a three way side by side comparison that someone was nice enough to share with me on another site. The test was not done in Porsche cars, but it was pretty interesting just the same.

Let me know what you think.

Erik,

That is my S2000 and I am the 1 on my back changing diffs. Man they were hot. My experience with the OSgiken in the S2000 was what made me consider installing it in the GT2 instead of the usual suspects. I am very glad I did.
