I had no idea how popular these DEs are! I finally started looking into track days.. joined the PCA, looked into the CVR chapter, and when I went to the website to sign up, both October and November dates are filled up (for Green group).
I e-mailed the DE chair of the chapter and I was told that usually it sold out within a hour.. (wow!) I am glad to hear about the passion that folks show toward DEs, but I am pretty bummed out.. thought I can squeeze one in before the year end / snow comes!![crying](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bigcry.gif)
At least now I know I need to act quick next time. I might do the "Taste of Track" thing for $40. (The instructor give you a ride for a session to let you know what it is like..)

Try other groups like the BMW club, etc. Not sure who holds track days in your area, but on the other side of the continent there are several groups that put on decent track days and they often open up registration to non-members.
Good luck!

Yeah, I only looked into the PCA events because I thought I should get some 911 specific instruction (due to the unique layout of the car, hence the driving style required..).

There are web sites which list all track days. If you ae thinking of the Glen, there are lots of clubs going there and the odds of your finding a place are good. Google to find those web sites.

I am looking into Lime Rock.. (Glen is a little bit far from me..)
Obviously, other clubs will be an option, but I was hoping to do my 1st DE w/ PCA! ha!
I will look into the volunteering opportunities.. !

If this is your first event, don't worry aboout 911 specific instruction. The basics are the same for all cars. Once you have more experience then yes the 911's characteristics become more important.

These days Lime Rock does not have as many days as in the past because of the Lime Rock "Club". As others said try other clubs. You can try BMW CVC or Patoon at Lime Rock Oct 16,17 -- these will be my last 2 days for the season. As Mooty mentioned many of the BMWCCA instructors (including me) drive Porsches.
I know it is far, but if you open yourself up to Watkins Glen I promise you will not have trouble getting in especially this time of the year.
