Well, bummer. It is not likely the switch. I replaced it and still have the intermittent starting issue. Turn the key over and nothing... 2, 3, 4 tries and suddenly it will fire up. What to try next? Could it be the starter solenoid intermittently operating then not. I have had it happen where the starter will be cranking then it'll stop, and back off with the key and try again. Sometimes 10 before it fires off. Sometimes first try. So far I've replaced the battery and now the switch. Battery maintains charge well, so I don't think it's the alternator. Is there a way to test the starter in place, or do I need to pull it out and take it to an alternator shop for testing. Is it fairly easy to pull out? Further thoughts? Many Thanks guys...

Turned out it was the clutch release switch. Faulty. Eliminated the switch altogether by jumping the two wires together. No more starting issue, and I don't need to depress the clutch to start the car any longer. Yes!!! Just make sure the car is in neutral prior to starting, like we GT3 drivers don't do that anyway
