Default Baseline Dyno Runs - 2004 996 GT3

I wanted to get a baseline for posterity, and just in case I do a mod or 2 Overall, I am happy with the numbers - especially on a Mustang Dyno.

Dyno pulls performed at Autoscope on Denton drive in Dallas. They have an awesome side-by-side Mustang Dyno setup, able to simulate 1/4 mile times. The shop is state of the art with 20 bays with underground lifts, underground alignment rack, meeting facilities, and free wi-fi. They have an awesome setup!

Mustang 4 Wheel Dyno
Stock 996 GT3 with BMC air filter @ 21,000 miles
Corrected HP values
Crank HP calculated using 10.0% drivetrain loss [just a guess]
NOTE: last run was in 4th, due to insane speed achieved in 5th. Those numbers are extra skewed.
Run 1: 5th Gear [terminated early due to exhaust fans not properly venting. Graph also failed.]
WHP: 355.4 / CHP: 394.9
TQ: 273.6
Speed: NA

Run 2: 5th Gear
WHP: 363.8
/ CHP: 404.2
TQ: 280.9
MPH: 161

run 3: 4th Gear
WHP: 372.5
/ CHP: 413.9
TQ: 289.3
MPH: 136

doesn't a 6GT3 put out 380hp at the crank according to PAG? These numbers are amazing!

372 to the wheels with only a filter is quite surprising...

Mine was (past tense) 355 to the wheels SAE corrected on a dyno jet

4th gear pulls are always a bit on the high side.

those are really good numbers. Are you saying the BMC filter accounted for the extra HP gains. its usually very rare that a car that is stock can achieve so much more than manufacturer specifications.

Porsche numbers are typically understated.

I have no idea if BMC made the pulls better or worse, actually. It was the only thing that wasn't bone stock in the car, so I noted it for my records. I figure stock and BMC would yield almost the same results anyway.

That's really strong #s! I would be interested to find out how much power my car makes too! Did it cost you much for the dyno time?!

Someone here said that GT3 engines are tested so that they meet a minimum of 105% of rated horsepower. So, 400+ hp would be about right if that is true.

I think that dynos not calibrated correctly. Sorry.

Porsche engines make quoted power pretty much on the nail from the runs I've seen in the UK. The only times they surpassed is with remaps etc. Its nice to kid ourselves, but that is what it is. Still beats audi/ferrari etc who massively overquote lol....

thats what I thought. Is there any published information that Porsche understates the HP their cars generate. if anything manufacturers love to boast about HP.... understood that every gt3 engine is handbuilt, but still. 380 is plentiful, im happy with that.
And even the manufacturers zero to 60mph in 4.5 seconds is also something that everyone cant achieve, even though manufacturers claim another number.

My runs on a Dynamics dyno showed 323 rwhp. Corrected by 15% gives 380 hp exactly.

My very limited experience with others running on Mustang dynos shows very optimistic numbers. Nonetheless, these dyno runs are only good to show what mods do for your car. In fact, what mods do for your car with pulls immediately after one another, no mod to mod. As you note, this does give you a baseline.
