Default Maf problem?

Hi guys,

I wonder if my MAF works properly? It seems to me than not for these reasons :

- Car has difficulties undernaeth 5000 rpm.
- My fuel consuption is under 17 liters to 19 liters per 100 km at normal driving.
- At a traffic light, when i'm clutching last time, the motor turn off.
- Car is like an elastic between 5500 and 7500 rpm. So the acceleration is not lineary in this rpm aera.

But, the chek engine light is not switched on. Is it possible wrong MAF with no light at the board???

Car has 30.000 miles and MAF is the origine from 2004.

What do you think about?

Thanks

I'd clean the MAF and see if that makes a difference.

Also, I'd check your cats to see if they're still ok. Not sure what the best way is to do that, though.

Does it run/accelerate properly at full throttle? If so, then it could be the MAF, since it doesn't do anything at WOT (wide open throttle).

Try cleaning it, but, you're going to have to get a set of tamper proof torx bits to get it out. Porsche decided that we shouldn't be able to remove it ourselves for some reason.

My maf died. Had no check engine lite either. Car hesitates and misfires. The guy next door to me in his corolla outdragged me at the stoplite. Issues went away when replaced with new maf. Mike

Tanks guys,

The car accelerate good at WOT but it's not lineary. Litte bit empty underneath 5000 rpm. At 5500, a first impulse and a second at average 6500 rpm.
But I've no misfires....

This morning, I've cleaned the MAF and I will test this evening.

I'll let you know.
