PFC vs Pagid
#31
Thx Craig. Good to know about the notched Pagids.
IIRC, some folks have said that PFC are easier to modulate than Pagid (trailbraking, etc).
One downside to PFC is the brake dust is fairly corrosive. You want to clean that off right away if you are concerned about the finish on your wheels. Most of us won't care about track wheels, but I have some nice street wheels that I don't want to mess up. I suppose I could get off my butt and swap pads, but I'm a lazy SOB and just run track pads on the street.
Cheers,

Ugh- corrosive and I'm a lazy guy(my wheels painted titanium gray so don't see dust and dont have to wipe it off). I think I'm going to stay with pagids for now. Thanks above guys with the info. Mike

The car does not move a bit under even the hardest braking. The premise seemed a little odd at first but the folks over at Werks II suggested it. Again, I have spot on control under braking. It seems to allow me to trail harder and longer without upsetting the car.

I have a 3-stage paint job on my street wheels. Ain't cheap. The only "bling" I'll allow on my car. Pagid for me until I stop being lazy.
PFC06 is the compound I've heard so many good things about. I think you'll like it.

Re: RS14 at the rear and RS19/29 up front: From the factory, the bias is set a bit too much to the front brakes given same pad compound front/rear. Putting more aggressive rear pads on helps to bring things into balance a bit more.
I have RS29f/r right now and I think I'll try RS14 at the rear next time.

**PMs are conked out here on RL on my end: PLEASE E-MAIL at rennstore@comcast.net**
Edit: Pagid DOES make a pad that works with the rotors - has a several mm cutout on the inner portion, made for Cup rotors which have the same issues.

Allan- I take it u used rs19's at one point and now running rs29(new version rs19?). If so notice ne difference? My rear pads and rotors seem to last forever- I've done 14 trackdays and no cracklines and pads still 50% left. If/when they wear out I'll give blacks a try. Thanks. Mike

I have been running the Pagid Enduro pad on my 996 GT-3 for the last few years and am very happy with the performance but wondered if Performance Friction made a pad that was similar .What I like about the Pagids is that they are very durable ,quiet on the street, and have better bite than stock (although not as good as other pads I know)TIA HOM
Also, PFCs can be run just about to the backing plate, and (on my old car at least) Pagids needed to be replaced at about 1/3 of the pad left due to heat transfer into the caliper.
As far as usability, I felt that the release with the PFCs matched the sensitivity of my foot better. Initial torque/bite was adequate with both Pagids and PFCs.
All in all, both are great for track use, and my money tends to split between the two now.

I'm not sensitive enough to know the difference between 19/29 and 29/29 yet. Rear lasts a long time for me too. That's the heavy front bias working for you.
