Default Track Commander by RLC Racing - anyone use it?

Anyone have any experience with a Track Commander by RLC Racing?
GPS lap timer...

Looks like a pretty nice and easy set up and made in USA etc..

I am considering buying one and wanted to hear anyone's experiences with this specific unit.

with the direction of your car... let me put it another way: with the continuation of mods to your car MOTEC would be something to consider. Do they have something to secure the device. Anything that is stuck to the windshield will become a missile at some point.

In that case, for the price, I would go with Traqmate. Easy software as well. Easily helped me find serious time on the track. But then again, I am a data geek.

not to beat a dead horse... but if you compare the traqmate and the track commander... it looks like the TC is just a way better... more reatures, a better display, color, touchscreen etc..

is there something about the traqmate that I am missing that would make it "better" than the track commander...

The large color screen and functionalitly of the TC appeal to me...

I know I sound like I am selling myself the TC -- I mainly just wanted to know if anyone has used it and what they thought of it...

They have a 30 day not satisfied return policy, so maybe I will just buy it and give it a shot and see...

lap timers are just that. they will not help you get that time lower. the others will provide you eiht the data which will enable you to improve.

do you consider the TM to be a lap timer? I do unless I am missing something...

If so, Dell says he found some time just using a simple lap timer... I think it is a good place to start...

I know what you are saying Gordon, but I am just looking to get some segment and lap times... along with the software provided with either the TM or the TC, I think would be sufficient for my analysis needs/wants

motec and aim for the race car that I do not have... simpler device for the DE car that I do have...

What I was saying is that Traqmate is NOT a simple lap timer. I didn't care so much about lap times as I did about improving in sections of the track where there was room for improvement. Traqmate is a data acquisition system and the software is the heart of the system. Sure, lap times are cool to have at the track, but the real fun begins when you download the data and start analyzing it.

I only meant "simple" in terms of install and ease of use

Both systems have similar software for analysis

Then you should test the software a priori.
