If DD, try 7gt3.
I know one for mid 80

If u like 6gt3
Contact carnerd. A nice cheap low mile silver car
Also another thread here selling a30k mile atlas gray car for food price.

If u want to pay higher than mkt, I have a nice white one for sale.

I would test drive 6&7 andnarriw it down first.

Or get a Carrera S DD. Much more comfortable on the street than a 996 GT3.

GT3 as a DD?!

I guess the next step is getting an SR71 as a commuter plane.

Yes Chris that would be the other alternative..... just not the same "prestige"

Amaist, a 996 GT3 will be just fine for a DD, do you think I will need snow tires in the winter?
Oh.... and does it have a back seat?........

Mooty thanks for the info.....

A 996 or 997 S or C4S would be a much better choice as a daily driver, plus it has the back seats you asked about. GT3's have very little clearance, no PSM or TC, and no undercoating so not the car you want to use in New England during the snow months. A couple of inches of snow, and you'll be ripping off your splitter and your your low hanging brake ducts. If you undecided betwen a 996 and a 997 GT3, you should drive both as they are quite different.
FYI: I found mine on ebay, had a PPI and was the right choice as a track car, but it's definitely not a DD.

The 997 GT3 is more complaint than the 996 GT3 so would make the better DD for traveling long distances. I could see either GT3 being a great summer DD, but would not even think about it in the winter months in Mass....

No undercoating, 4 inches of ground clearance, and a touchy throttle with those fat 18s in back - sounds like a hoot in snow!

Good luck.

Perhaps ... doesn't bother Mr Rouleau or I though ...

You could always get a Turbo for the "prestige" ...

What happened to your Cayman S?

The way I see it, the GT3 could be a cool summer DD and eventually very easily converted over to a dedicated track car and be more desirable than a 997 S

I am not a turbo guy, never was.....never will.....

I still have Cayman S as my garage queen......(that could be possibly be replaced)

Cool summer DD if the commute isn't too far. The GT3 is rough, twitchy and it drones.

And yes, it can be fairly easily converted into a competent track car which will perform much better on the track than a 997S (although the 997S is pretty competent).

The 997S is much better on the street. The 996 GT3 is much better on the track.

Get yourself a 7GT3. Great around town and bunch of fun at the track. Imagine the next time up at LCMT, all you would need is you, a gym bag and you would be ready to go.

Carl, the 7GT3 would be too fancy for my style, I need something more rudimentary like the twitchy 6 type....... you know what I mean?......

BTW, my next trip to Canada will be Mosport for the CR......
never been there, but I hear is a great track........

No difference between a 2004 or 2005. All built on the same production run. Model years just overlapped that's all.
