going to try the v710's and the crack..noticed that the 245/35 24.8 inches have rounded and 245/40 have square shoulders and 25.7 inches dia

305/30 rear are square shouldered 25.5 inches dia...anyone using 245/ 40 vs 245/35 up front..

quote from company info "While rounded shoulder and squared shoulder tires can be combined in axle pairs on the same vehicle, some unique vehicle tuning may be required to maximize the performance of both designs. Ecsta V710 tires benefit from vehicle alignments that offer some negative camber and tires with the squared shoulder profiles will typically require more negative camber than tires with the rounded shoulder profiles."

also are they fast out of the box? read some on longevity any comments? any other tires i am overlooking other than hoosiers? thanks

mike

Great tire and warms up fast like in one lap but to be safe 2 laps. I use 305 square and 245 square(40 series). Make sure hot temps are hovering 31-32. Gets greasy after 34 hot. Mike

I try not to use Hoosiers/kuhmos if track is wet so if it's nice sunny days no problem

yeah no trailer yet but found a great shop 5 miles out of sebring that i can store my car and fix it less than it would be to rent a space for a trailer...they bring it to the track for me...it rains too much here in fl to really drive them to the track particularly in the summer..i have been driving r comps for years to the track but figured my luck was running out...

is there a downside to buy them heat cycled? would that not increase longevity?

I assume that the driving characteristics of 710s are similar to Hoosiers based on feedback. That being said, you're going to chew your tires up prett quick driving them with the same slip angles as Nittos or Toyos. For longevity, you can run on the leading edge of the maximum slip angle range and only be a couple tenths slower per lap. But this will gain you a few more heat cycles on the back end. I'm getting around 16, with 4 FAST, 6-8 good, and the last few OK. Also, the speed of corrections when driving on slip for the super sticky tires needs to be much faster. If you make the same responses you would make driving Nittos, you'll be way behind. Lastly, the back side of the maximum slip angle drops off much faster than Nittos/Toyos, so the likelihood of spinning goes up as you get too much yaw.
