Default PCCB: anyone that has used p50 and p90 brake pads

I am sorry to be a pill again.
I know that most of you dont care about/for the pccb. But that is what i gots. so i will use them until chunks of pccb fly out from behind the car...

Seems as though the p50 brake pads are the way to go, see...
https://rennlist.com/forums/996-gt2-...the-track.html

In any case, was corresponding and speaking with Craig at rennstore and our discussion generated an interesting question: are there any folks out there that do/had switched out p50's for the track and p90's for the street?

anyone? anyone at all?

thanks again. fve

- i did on my 997 once - but only once so far
- since then i have just left the p50s in all the time
- i have new in the box p90s that if the car ever goes for sale or stops tracking i will then put in
- until then, p50s 100% of the time
- but i don't really dailly drive the car, it comes out every few weekends but i do drive to and from the track all 20 times per season
- car has 33,000kms on it, with approx 40 trackdays
- 4 sets of OE pads and now on 2nd set of p50s
- best guess is that rotors have another 25 days in them

I'm changing my discs and pads this weekend with PFC stuff. Here is what the P50 pads did to my discs over the last 15k street and track miles, 75% street. They just look unsafe!

Roberga and many others had great luck with the P50s - shiny and smooth as new with many, many track days.
*I'll be getting more P50s in - about 1 week*

That's the thing about PCCB and all the love / criticisms.....unpredictable.
You take what measures you can and.....

I run the green pads, see my signature

I have done 6 track days on them now, they stop great

I think the biggest improvement you can make is to use cup car cooling ducts. When brakes overheat they wear much faster

I will switch to iron soon more for peace of mind from all the FUD than any real data or negative experience with my PCCB setup

Indeedy, that it the reason many switch to steel and shelve the PCCB for the time being - POM.

Ouch. Well, mine look a touch nicer, but the car never saw a track before last year. Someone else took the depreciation on this expensive option so i might as well use them. If they fry, they fry and i will add myself to the list of pccb detractors. There are lots of steel rotors out there. For now, i am just trying to follow the lead of those that have used them (pccb) and found success. Will see what they look like a year from now...

One thing that i do have to point out is the stock brake spoilers. Everyone keeps on telling me what a difference they make. Will see this spring...
