It is interesting that the slots are not also standardized. I saw a set this weekend on a 997 GT3 ( a different manufacturer) that had the slots going towards the front of the car, but the vanes going backwards.

Slots curving towards the front of the car and the internal vanes curving towards the back of the car is the normal and correct orientation for some rotors.

Very true in 99% of the cases. the PO of my car installed the 993 TT rotors with the holes neatly arcing backwards......fluid boiled due to the vanes arcing forwards from zero air circulation -

FWIW the DeMan rotors have the vanes and the slots curved the same direction. As far as I know the orientation of the slots, i.e., curved to the front or curved to the rear of the car is a non issue. The internal vanes however must curve towards the back of the car.

Installed Incorrectly - I think.
Here is another example of the rotors installed incorrectly. The picture is the drivers side (Left wheel). A simple L or R stamped on the actual rotor like the Cup rotors these replaced would have removed all these problems and confusion.

Are you sure??
*The ultimate and overriding factor 100% of the time is ALWAYS the internal vanes - they MUST be sweeping in a backwards direction:
IE take one theoretical vane, plant it in mind - it MUST arc towards the REAR of the car as it goes from the inner towards the OUTER edge of the rotor.
It MUST.
Slots are secondary and must not be used in this equation, ever.

I totally agree. I can handle L or R, but vanes, curves and sweeping backwards just don't cut it for me. Put a stamp on the Rotor and case closed.

Saw this at the 6-speed sales forum.. so either it is installed incorrectly (the rotor) or Brembo's disk has internal vanes that's the other direction compare to the slots on the surface?
