Default seatbelt receptacle thingy

Since search isn't working, I have to post a new thread

Where does one find those handy seat belt receptacle thingies that you can pop in at the track while wearing your harness to stop the beeping?

Got mine from a local junkyard. Brought a knife and cut it out of a VW. Cost: $2

When I looked online no one wanted to sell just a buckle. They only had the entire belt assembly. Not saying that someone doesn't sell the buckles, but I couldn't find them.

I ended up cutting a couple buckles off a VW Passat at Pick-a-part. Was less than $10.

parts-heaven is a rip off.
i bought one from them at 60 bux or so.

it is IDENTICAL to VW. just get one from junk yard at VW and stuff it in while tracking.
or you can pull passenger belt over to your side and insert the buckle.
or you can wrap driver belt around back of seat and insert.

Since I have spent "way too much money" at my local Porsche dealer, they went out back and cut one off a replaced seat belt assy. Just ask and I am sure they will help.
Porsche, VW and Audi will all work.

I tried to get the cars management re-programmed by OPC - to start with they were open to the idea and would go away to investigate what would be required...then a week later the message was that they wouldn't entertain the idea of doing this..."more than my job's worf, mate[sniff]"

So I made my own dummy plug out of some 3mm ally platye I just happen to have kicking about the garage....tiny, light and not as intrusive as a full size buckle (yes, I'm a weight-weenie!)
