Default Oil Temperature GT3

Hello,

I'm new on this forum and it looks very great

On GT3, everybody knows that Porsche hasn't used temprature oil gauge.

I've looked at the OBD codes and that it's maybe possible to read the temperature on OBD. How is it possible?

If i've good understood, it's a problem of software. Is Porsche center can update the software of the OBD??

Thanks.

The early 996 had the capability to run diagnostics from the HVAC unit...see this thread...

I don't think it works for our later 996s thoigh...anyone know if it works but a different way of getting into it?

There are dipstick thermometers but I would prefer to have an oil temp gauge on the dash. I think the 997 has one, we should be able to retrofit.

I was reading the technical supplement last night. The ECU knows trans oil temperature too. Motronic knows all.

Yes, but is there a communication between the Motronic and the ODB??
Maybe, is there a special manipulation to read a hide menu in the ODB??
