That was my post - it was really easy to do on the 964 - i imagine the only hard thing to do on the GT3 is locating a tach signal - but if you have the wiring diagrams you should be able to piggy back off the standard Tach signal either via Tap or the connector like i did with mine.
The unit is very useful, & bright.
mine is set to trigger the 1st light at 4,000 RPM then illuminate 1 light every 500 RPM until redline with the yellow light triggering 500 before redline in my car (this is also the HP peak for my car)
an added bonus is that the lights reflect on the windshield just below eye level so you do not defocus from the road in order to read them at all.

I swear by Pivot's products as no tapping is required. Just plug in your cigarette lighter socket. www.pivotracing.com

Hey, QR! Any updates on the shift light? How did the installation go? Any advice or pics? Kyle

Ordered my Australian shift light about 3 days ago. Looks like they have very prompt customer service via email. I'm also looking at the defroster area. Another idea is to fabricate a bracket and double-sided tape it to the inside top of the windshield right in front of my face! Once I have the light in hand I'll figure out where it works better. I'm having my local Porsche performance shop do the wiring because I'll just feel better about it. They recommended not tapping into the OBD wires, which is what the Australians suggested.

Definitely! This shop is very skilled (owner used to be a master tech with Porsche factory team at LeMans and Sebring). But at the same time they are very laid back and will let me watch (I like to watch) the install and take pics. I'll post a thread after the install.

Got it installed this WE. I have it currently mounted on top of the steering column, next to my V1 remote display. An ideal position seems to be on the column, centered. Where it currently lies is very visible, just less elegant looking. I may play around with placement.
It was quite simple to install. Power and ground went to the circuit I put in for the V1. The tach input went to the purple/green wire of the #9 terminal leading into the OBD2 port. Highly recommended, should be nice on the track! Kyle
