What Would You Pay?
2003 GT2 - 1,900 miles - black/black, yellow belts & stitching, cruise, crest in headrest, aluminum shifter, brake handle & door pulls, 1 owner, but been for sale at two dealers over the past year and a half
2003 GT2 - 2,800 mile - silver/black, full carbon interior (large), cruise, crest in head rest, original owner
I have checked all the regular sources, but given the world today is an additional hit to pricing required to move a GT2?
Thx,
JCM

First car;
I have seen that car for sale. Not in person. I only wish that I had the coin. Their price is very reasonable. Try for $5k more ? Its a bargain either way. This car would be $20k more pre-economic-crash.
Do it.

An all-over clear bra would protect the black from swirl marks and make it much easier to keep clean. The trick is finding competent installers.
I've already visited with the black GT2. Where can I find the Grey one listed?

Black car in Costa Mesa is on ebay. Here is the link.

Car has cruise, porsche crest in head rest, yellow belts, yellow stitching all around and aluminium package (gauges, shifter, door pulls, glove box pull, door entry). So this is a fine lightweight example of the car.
One interesting thing is the milage was 1,892 when I saw it, their ad says 1,890, you drove it a few miles, and when I first say it at True Speed at a much higher price it had 1,890 miles. They offered me a drive as well (which I declined). So how are the miles staying put when the car is moving around?
Here is a link to the Silver one it has 2,800 miles.

I've been watching the Silver GT2 on ebay for weeks. The owner is delusional. People don't realize that these high end cars are not investments (Unless, maybe, if they have a prancing horse on the hood). Especially in today's economy, People aren't buying $100,000.00 used cars. Look at all the 996GT2's which don't make it to the reserve on ebay. All of the bidding hits about 65K and stops there. In my estimation these cars are worth between 70K for high mile cars and possibly 90K for cars like the black GT2 in Costa Mesa. Let's not forget that the 997 has pushed down the prices of these 5 to 6 year old cars.
BTW, those wheels on that silver one are horrific.
The Seal Grey GT2 also has a delusional dealer. Max on that on should be between 80 to 85K.
I'll give you an example. I went to see a Seal Grey 2002 GT2 in Tampa last summer (Yes, I'm serious enough to have taken a flight). Some of you guys may have seen it on ebay. Private seller, upgraded Carbon Fiber interior. 4000 miles. Driver programmable DME (Stock, Valet, Race, Sport). Porsche roll bar. Brand new PS2's. Very expensive suspension (I don't remember the name, but it was fully adjustable with cylinders hooked to the roll bar. The owner said it was a 20K upgrade) Scroth harness. GT3 seats.
The owner wanted 109K when I saw it. I offered 90K. No deal. a couple of months later I saw it on ebay again. It came and went with no bids. I called the owner a couple of weeks ago and he said he sold it to a guy in LA for 92K.
What that tells me is that the completely stock GT2 in Costa Mesa is worth less than this completely upgraded one which had at least 30 to 40K in aftermarket goodies.

I generally agree about the market value being at low levels. But I do not consider Ebay to be an indicator of value. Even in good times cars rarely sell there. There are mostly dealers who bid wholesale and bottom-feeders who are trying to steal something. These days, for cars anyway, Ebay is pretty much an advertising medium.

You guy's are a bit off the mark, this might be how it is right now this second, but at auction 2 weeks ago an 03 with 9k miles sold for 97k believe it or not..
Not defending it because I am a GT2 owner, just saying, depends on how badly the dealer/person wants to get rid of the car, but it isn't dropping a significant amount to be near GT3 territory!
That seal grey car is STUNNING.. When I was in the market I was so close to buying a Midnight blue on Cinnamon GT2, but my RUF GT2 popped up and had to have it.
I can't lie, that car makes me want to trade up all because of that interior color, gorgeous!

I drove one GT2s and not sure whether the car is out of alignment or not, it is very scary to drive. Not a lot of people are ready for it. People want to have fun driving the GT Porsches. Not scared. Not surprising that 3 market is bigger and delta between 2 and 3 is not that much. But, of course if you're only care of going straight line, it's an another story. You gotta spend serious amount of money to have confidence in GT2's handling.
