Question ABS pump failure?

Has anyone had a failure or heard of a characteristic deficiency of the 996 GT3 ABS pump? I was with an SCCA winner/ dealership owner this weekend, and he told me they had to replace his with a Cup ABS pump due to inherent deficiencies in the stock 6GT3 unit.

your on your own on this one Chucky....never heard of a Mk I or II that had an ABS pump or ecu problem and I've been around the ones that are tracked heavily, which is where I would assume the problem would appear...anybody out there heard of this? I can only think there could be a problem with the wrong diameter tires...maybe he thought it was an inherent deficiency because you couldn't just slap any profile f/r tire on the car without upsetting the ABS system....

Hi Chuck,

Can't help with the ABS unit, but I wanted to say thanks again for the tips this past weekend and look forward to meeting you again real soon. I'll get the numbers to you soon!

Omar,

Nice meeting you too. I ordered a set of the rotors, and will let you know when I put them on. Happily, AFAIK, I have no problems with the ABS pump, but Freddy Baker said he did.
