Difference between USA and Euro 996?
What does the Porsche factory due to the USA production cars to make them different than the rest-of-the-world cars?
Asked differently, what would a German need to change on a USA 996 exported back to Germany?
For example, I have heard that the struts and springs are taller on the USA models to meet USA bumper requirements. Also, I am aware that Euro 996's have some issue with them lowering their value in the USA, and making them suitable primarily as track cars, rather than street cars, but I don't know exactly what this issue is.
Thanks in advance for any insight.

My guess is that you would need to change the headlights and the instrument face to read in km/h. Just a guess. You should contact Porsche in Germany or perhaps the German TUV. You are right that the stock suspension is higher in the US. Just install the EURO M030 suspension if you don't like the look.

If we are talking 996 GT3, you don't need to worry about ride height, it's adjustable anyway and there is no such thing as M030 suspension for GT3's. I'd be more worried about emission control.

As for changing the instrument face to read in km/h, I know that on my 2002 996TT this is merely a matter of resetting the gauge (a simple as setting a common alarm clock), and requires no hardware change.
What's unique about Europe's headlight requirements?
I'm talking about a 996 C2 or possibly C4, but not a GT3. Also, no, I'm not the one looking for a silver cab. I'm looking for a 2002-2003 996C2 coupe preferably with a factory aerokit.
