This is again fhp911 -- initiator of the thread.
As predicted by a list sage, the light DID come on again.
I contacted the dealer, who had said they would NOT honor a warranty claim due to the car being tracked, and suggested that they really should do so -- the emissions parts are warrantied for 8 years, not 4 like the rest of the car, and really what does tracking the car have to do with it anyway, and also that I have bought 3 P-cars from them so they should be nice to me.
They agreed to pay for the cat !!
So all, or at least a lot, is well.

you can track the **** out of your car and you will not do much to hurt the cat. 100oct will kill it, but hey, you did use 91 oct right. i KNOW you used 91oct. so tell dealer that.
any cat failure should be coverd by warranty. it's like saying they wont cover your radio b/c you tracked. some dealer are so full of you know what, this is really pissing me off.
