I was sorry to see that you are selling that GT3. I believe your car was the first GT3 in the US. (mine was the second-delivered at the factory 6/11/03).
I had my car for 16 months and had 19,000 miles when I sold it. The tradition still lives on though in my family. My son (BFR) bought a '04 GT3 7000 miles car) when he moved out to California recently.
Good luck with the sale. It certainly is priced exactly right and I hope you get more miles out of your next automotive adventure.

Just curious, how do you know when in the US delivery queue your car is delivered? Did you get some sort of certificate that said as much? Just find it odd since it seems that everybody that had a summer 03 delivery claims they were the first (or one of them).

My car was delivered to me at the factory on June 11, 2003. It was then shipped to the States where ALL GT3s were being held from distribution because there was a problem with the software. It turned out that my car reached the States of Friday and the software glitch was cleared up that weekend. All cars, mine included, where then released for delivery in the States.

So you had it delivered in Germany at the factory and they told you that was the 2nd one delivered to a US customer.......or that was just a best guess?

I was told that I was the second car picked up at the factory. The GT3 had not been released in the States at that point. Steve, I believe, took deliver at the factory as well.
Steve- Am I remebering that correctly?

The first US bound GT3 was picked up by ringmeister at the factory in May 2003. It was Speed Yellow with very few options. I believe he sold the car a few years ago.

Chet, thanks for the info. Of course, it was a SY one that was first. Is there any other color (besdies Cobalt)???
I am just curious if the factory is telling people, "by the way, your car is the first bound for the US". And wouldn't it be the first shipment since I am sure there are more than one on the boat coming across.
No big deal if nobody has the definitive answer, I was just curious since (as I have said already) it seems that everybody (used very loosely) seems to be the "first", etc.
