Default Europipe still the standard?

Having never heard anything but positive feedback on europipe exhausts, I thought that I would ask for a consensus on the 996 GT3 europipe system once more before pulling the trigger.

Thoughts? Comments? How is this system holding up?

I passed on a used one at around $2K, if I recall correctly, about 8 months ago and I still regret it.

In fact a very nice guy from Montana was selling BBS e88s, rs wing and euorpipe for about half of retail new pricing... and like an idiot I thought about it all for too long and the stuff was snatched up...

I have never heard anything bad about the Europipe and it sounds great.

I've logged about 6k miles...and no issues....I may get the bypass pipes..."though only Europipe bypass pipes fit" so I have to purchase thiers...but they are reasonable.

Default Getting ready to pull trigger too.

From what I can tell, it still is the one to beat. Only other one close is the Cargraphic exhaust. I emailed Europipe a few weeks ago to check on price/shipping etc. Surprisingly, the price has remained pretty consistent despite the Euro/dollar melt down, but I'm not sure how much longer that will last.. Here is the price as of a few weeks ago.

Here are the prices for the Europipe 996 GT3 Mk2 sport exhaust system :

1 set 63.5 mm silencers : $ 1770.00
1 set of sport cats with 100 cells : $ 1930.00
4 sets 63.5 mm exhaust clamps : $ 38.00 x 4 = $ 170.00
1 modified bracket for the sport cats : $ 13.00
2 tube clamps to hold the sport cats : $ 57.00
1 set OEM tailpipes modified to 63.5 mm : $ 610.00
Total : $ 4550.00

Fedex shipping to the US is $ 235.00

We also offer a Loud version exhaust :

Just let me know if you have other questions.

Kind Regards ,

I recently installed the Europipe system and all I can say is I love it. The system is less restrictive and you'll feel a noticeable improvement in the throttle response. The sound is more aggressive then the OEM but not much louder. Just loud enough for you to enjoy the exhaust note.

This is a very well packaged system. Everything from the quality of the fabrication to the way it fits on the car.

I bought the "slightly used" set from Montana... i absolutely love it and cannot imagine the car w/o it. lots of burbles and pops w/o the crazy loudness of bypass pipes and a slight increase in throttle response... Whats not to love!

I have the Cargraphic mufflers, as does racingfan, and am quite satisfied with its sound and build quality. Racingfan bought his unit after listening to mine. Sound is very subjective, so if you haven't heard the Europipe or the Cargraphic, I recommend doing so before diving in.

I heard Richard's (racingfan) last weekend. Sounds great, a lot like bypass pipes but at lower decibel.

Joe, I think you drove by Alice's while we were having lunch there.

I was out and about on Saturday. i would have passed Alice's about 1 or so. Now that I can drive again, I've been out 4 times over the 92-35-9-Empire Grade-1 route with some 84 thrown in there.

Yep, we thought that was you. We were out front on the deck having just come back from Santana Row.

How do these two exhaust systems compare to the Fabspeed set-up?

As far as I've seen, they all look alike. Closer inspection will show differences in quality of welds, material, clamps, ... They all claim some increase in hp. In this regard, any claim more than 5 hp is mostly marketing. The internals, which you can't see, of course, will be what will give you a different sound. That's why I strongly recommend anyone wanting to go with an aftermarket system find someone with a unit installed, and listen to it. Sound clips don't do it, IMO.

(Holger, next time you guys go out, give me a ring. I need to drive, especially now that I'm not tracking.)

As Joe and Holger mentioned, I have the Cargraphics mufflers and love them. With respect to comparing Cargraphics to Fabspeed, I believe the Cargraphics are higher pitched, while the Fabspeed is a deeper tone. As a result, I've heard the Fabspeed masks some of the mechanical engine sounds. They are similar in weight (about half the stock system). Cargraphics is more expensive, but the quality is high. Here's a link to a thread with a more detailed review that I gave on the Cargraphics mufflers. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-gt2-gt3-forum/408914-anybody-out-there-with-a-cargraphic-muffler.html

Joe -- I'll definitely touch base the next time we go out. Glad to see you're driving again. Holger and I were hoping that you'd turn around and drop into Alice's for a bite to eat. Unfortunately, neither of us had your mobile number or we would have called you on the spot.
