Default GT3 Suspension Upgrades

Over the winter, I had my suspension upgraded by Bill Rudtner of Rudtner Racing in Freeport NY. He did the following:

Stiffer springs
Bilstein's revalved for the stiffer springs
RS control arms
New Spring Plates and solid mounts
Corner balancing and track alignment
Cup air ducts

I already had the rear toe links and engine mounts done previously.

It felt like a different car the past two days at Watkins Glen the improvement was so drastic. I had one of the coaches from SPEED SECRETS with me, and he said it was the best set up GT3 he's every been in, which is quite the compliment.

How great is that when the time and $ you put in pays off with rewards!

Bill Rudtner is great to work with too.

What spring rates did you end up using?

You got to love it when a mod works this well.

Rick, that is fantastic to hear! I know we have talked offline extensively about this but now that it has been done and the reward is "priceless" (no wisecracks from the peanut gallery!) you level of enjoyment is about to be at full tilt!!!!!! Have fun with her. She's great when setup properly isn't she?

We went with 500 front and 700 rear, because I go to both WGI and LRP and this was a compromise due to LRP's horrible track conditions. I have the sway bars sets at one front soft in the front and one from firm in the rear which we have found eliminates "push" at turn in. I just switched to Fikse's with Hoosiers which helped make it even better.

The proper set up is everything with a 996 GT3 as the factory set up leaves much to be desired.
