Does anybody know how many Mk1 CS were produced?

Most of this comes from the GT3 buying guide in GT Porsche Feb 2007

1858 Mk1 built total

Of those 308 in right hand drive of which 106 went to the UK and the rest to South Africa and Japan primarily - I have a figure of 52 in my head for SA, but I can't remember where that comes from.

28 of the UK (RHD) were CS versions (GTPorsche), 7 of the SA one's were CS (1 Zambezi Red, 2 Red, 2 Yellow, 1 White, 1 Basalt) - of these 3 have been scrapped already (1 Zambezi Red, 1 Red and 1 Black as I understand)

I would guess the statistics are roughly similar CS - regular for the LHD versions.

49 CS in Right hand drive in total is the number I have, but again - source is dodgy.

I have a MK1 CS so I too have been trying to find out in various places which proportion of total production was CS. To no avail. 30% seems good guess. Perhaps Adrian Streather's forthcoming book on the 996 will tell us.

Anything new on these M003 cars? Friend just bought one and it seems to be difficult to find exact numbers how many CS were made in LHD.

The reason it's hard to find is because there is no CS production model, it's just an option. There was only one type of 996 GT3 mk1 produced. It's like finding out how many A/C GT3 was produced, or how many had the centre console fittet.

Most books states that about 1/3 of all buyers ticked the M003 option, so there should be over 600 cars with the clubsport option fitted.

Official Porsche Australia figures state 77 out of a total 90 996.1 GT3s delivered to Aus were speced as Clubsport.

996.2 was 35 out of 74 total cars. There were also 17 RS cars

i first saw a GT3 clubsport at the factory in Dec 1999. Green. Beautiful.

Always had a thing for them ever since.

I know but there are or at least used to be ways to find out. We know for example same info for over 50K '80-95 MY 928's made. Unfortunately we don't have to possibility to find out anymore for all other models.
