Default Help! Steering wheel off and can't get connector undone

I am installing my cup wheel and quick release but I can't get the grey connector removed from the big plastic ring that has the horn/airbag wires. Anybody do this before???

TIA!!!

Sometimes those typs of connectors have tabs that must be depressed in order for them to slide out..

Otherwise, I have a heavy duty pair of wire cutters that you can borrow

Ah, the joys of working on your car!

Right now she is just sitting in the garage wheelless

I know if I keep trying without knowing the trick to unplug it I am going to break off a tab or something and then I am really screwed when I have to re attach it in the future.

Got it figured out. I just went further into the dash and found that the wiring harness breaks into two harnesses so I found them (red and orange) and removed them. They were very easy to remove. Voila! I'll write this up with pics when I am done in a new thread.

Chris wanted to see how long you'd last before blowing a fuse and ripping the damn connector!!!

But now you can say you've got the perfect everyday patience exercise...... A Baby!!

dell,

how did the horn wire up on your wheel? i took off my sparco because the base hub didn't ground into the steering column properly so i didn't have a horn while driving around town (quickest way to a stroke in Toronto...no one respects the 1-fingered salute or the shotgun wave anymore..)
