Very nice car!

Also makes you think about what a bargain a nice 6GT3 is...

That is a great example Brian! I have seen it in person exactly 2 times over the past year. Once at the dealer and once on HWY1.

But makes you wonder how an exact setup costs exactly half of that and only 2-3 years older???

2004/2005 GT3 with full suspension upgrade $80K
2007 GT3 with full suspension upgrade $165K

The law of diminishing returns. The 997 in general has caught on in a way the 996 never did, so if you want to play, you gotta pay.

You ain't kidding Ron! While I love the 7GT3, when it came out there was no way I could come to selling my 6GT3 to move to the 7. The price delta in mind mind was too large for too small a return on the track over and above the 6GT3. However, if I was using it for track AND daily driver duties, then it would have been an easier choice.

What's funny is while the price of the 7GT3 is still through the roof, the pricing of the 6 hasn't really gone down much over the last year. If anything they are holding steady it seems.

Both great cars, just 2 different cars when it comes down to it.

Dream on, brother. Does that include the labor you paid for installing the goodies? If thats what you paid for it, why wouldnt one just purchase everything on the list including a new 7GT3 and have zero miles on the ticker with full warranty? Or just get an RS for that matter?
Dont get me wrong; its obviously a very nice car, however I have never seen anyone get full return on aftermarket stuff. Usually you would be lucky to get any return at all. As far as it being track ready, a roll bar, seats and harnesses should be on the list.
Anyway thats my take on it, besides which I would not consider the 7GT3 until you can lose the center console and hole in the roof.
