Default Long time lurker, first time poster...

Hi All,

I have been keeping up with this forum for some time but for one reason or another never posted until now. I purchased a 04 GT3 back in Aug/Sept as a dedicated track car. It's my second P-car as I owned a 87 944 back in 1990, (I'm dating myself) since then it has been a list of Japenese sports cars and German sedans. I have had the pleasure of meeting a few of you in the recent past at the local tracks, KJ, Datax and On Pole to be specific.

So to the important stuff:
'04 GT3 Silver 6700 miles/ never tracked before me
-Replaced seats with Recaro Pole Positions
-Schroth 5 point Hans belts
-CCW 14, black 9F and 11R
-TPC sways
-TPC Rear Toe links
-DAS Roll cage
-Stainless steel lines and Mutol 600 fliuds

and that was just the first week...

I'm lucky enough to have several quality shops near by, Induktion, TPC and AtSpeed Motorsports to help me out.

I also put in a Bend Pak lift with Roller jack to work/store the car. I considered the Back Yard Buddy but the cost differential was significant.

Since owning it I have only hit up three events, Summit Point, Barber and VIR but I typically hit one to two track events a month up and down the east coast so if you see, me stop and say hi.

Sweet! You need to become a more frequent "participant" on this board. I love the car, and I really love the garage. Nice set up!

Finally, you're on RL. Welcome Omar! Nice garage. Sign up for PCA Zone 2 event if you can. A lot of local area guys are going and should be fun.

Welcome,

Great choices on safety gear. Glad to see you intend to enjoy the car to it fullest.

BTW, are you the guy with the question for My Obvious on how to cook a turkey? Couldn't resist...

I have a prior commitment March 16 so I cannot make the first PCA event. I will be at VIR with TrackDaze March 2-3, then Summit Main March 15 only w/BMW club. Potentially doing the NASA VIR then definitely doing Audi VIR in April.

Ken - I almost posted earlier, especially when I saw your post about VIR in the wet, I notice you did not post the balance of the pics. You know I have the rest of those shots for ransom;-P What brand rotors did you pick up again? I still need to replace mine since they are starting to spider. Any resolution to your missing wheels?

KJ - Will you be at any of the above events? I could use any knowledge you could share, I did do a session with Sullivan my last trip to VIR, WOW.

O, I've a Performance Friction Direct Drive 2 piece rotors with PFC 97 pads. Got the refund for missing wheels so I'm now looking for another set of rims for track. Soooo about the rest of the pictures........how much you want for them?? I want them gone from your computer!!

Ken,

<Holding pinky to corner of lip> "One million dollars, bwahahah"

Thanks, I'm looking into them. Take a look at the C14's - light and cheap! A black set like mine would look hot on your car.

LoL. I can't believe that photographer took multi frames per second of me spinning. When I got the photo CD, half of it is filled with pictures from turn 6, 6A and 7. But, hey hey hey... it was because of the oily spot. Not a 100% driver error!

Anyway, I'm thinking of getting a used rims this time so that I can save more towards suspension upgrade. We'll see. You should get the brakes sorted soon since they are pretty important. Performance Friction rotors, you can reuse the hats for couple of times since they are two piece. So, initially it may cost little bit more but you'll end up saving in a long run (I believe). Too bad, you can't make it to PCA Zone 2 event.
