John makes for the 996 GT3:
Front: 9", 9.5" and 10"
Rear: 11", 11.5" and 12"
The 9/9.5" and 11/11.5/12" have the stock offsets. The 10" not so much.
I've 10"/12" C14.
I would go with 9/11.5 and 245/255/265 fronts and 305/315 rear

I still don't understand why he (John at CCW) feels the need to try and sell 12" wheels to the GT3 crowd if they are going to run 295/305/315 rubber. The 11.5" I can understand but the 12" is totally wrong. The rubber we run is DESIGNED to run on a 11" wheel OPTIMALLY.

NJ-JT - What front tire size are you running on those 10's? I'm wondering if 255's & 265's really fit?
LVDell - My correspondence with John (CCW) indicates he's not pushing 12" wheels for 6GT3's. He recommended 11's and 9's to me and said he has done very few 12's and only at customer's specific request.
Cheers,

The 315 MPSC should not be used on 11" wheels, same goes for the A6/R6 and R1 on the same sizes. These four tires are too wide for the 11" wheel, they should be used on 12" wheels.
I ran 315 MPSC on the stock 11" and the rear was floppy and disconnected. I checked the alignment, and everything was fine. Same thing happened with the 335 RA1 on the stock 11" wheels. The 315 MPSC is as wide as the 335 RA1.
It's funny that Michelin specifies a 10.5"-11.5" wheel for the 315 MPSC. On the stock 11" the 315 rubs, and the sidewalls look bulky.
However, the 315 PS2 is much narrower, and this tire is fine on 11" wheels. Indeed, I use a 11.5" street wheel, and the 315 looks too narrow for such wheel.
11" are ok for every 295 out there, every 305 out there, but not too many 315 on race compound.
The ideal combination depends on how fast you want to go. That's why racing series limit the wheel width and tire width. I have run my car with 275, 285, 295, 305, 315 and 335 at the rear. I look at the times from my consistent competitors (AutoX) and the lap times from pro and club racing series at the racetrack.
I run 285/30R18 on A6, and 275/35R18 on RA1 at the front.
For stock sizes r-comp tires, I would use 9"/11" CCW wheels on 245/305 tires, with the sway bars in the stock positions. If using 295 at the rear, set that rear sway one hole softer.

i spoke to john CCW many many times for the last 3 months. he recommended 255/315 tires and assured me nothing will rub.
then i spoke to someone who has 9" and 12" on 996gt3, with 315, there's a slight rub in the rear (unexpected) and 245 has rub at full lock (expected).
speaking with fikse, they are pretty adament that 11" is about as wide as they will go, else they will not guarantee fitment.
i may just run 245/295 or 245/315 on oem wheels for now, until this is fully figured out.
damn, i have never had so much prob figuring out tire/wheels.

Well, that certainly supports LVDell's comments...

I ran as did my friend the 9 & 12" CCW with the 245 & 315 Hoosier R6's at Mosport with no rub. With the stock wheels and the Nitto's of the same size it only rubbed in the back over sudden or hard bumps.
